The most widely accepted birthstone for December is Tanzanite. Tanzanite is named after the place of its origin, Tanzanita. This is a beautiful and rare stone. Its rarity is owing to the fact that Tanzanoa is a small Nation and the only place where true tanzanite is found. The periwinkle hues of blue and purple make tanzanite truly unique and magical.
Tanzanite is said to dissolve old harmful patterns. It allows you to move forward in life with a positive outlook. Tanzanite is linked to the throat and third eye charkas, meaning it helps with communication as well as opening up to messages from spirit guides.
Turquoise is an alternate birthstone for December. Turquoise comes in a range of colours and patterns depending on the physical origin of the stone. It can be green, blue and everything in between. It is a very soft mineral and needs to be treated or stabilized in some way to make it strong enough to be made into jewellery.
